Careers in the Graphic Design Field:

Graphic design is visual communication

Three types of Graphic Design are image, text, and combined designs.

There are many responsibilities of a Graphic Designer, two that I found interesting are designing the
layouts and presenting your design to clients.

Looking at many different Graphic Design related careers I was interested in the logo designer because I think it’s pretty cool that there are a lot of companies that are hiring for the position. I think that making
sure that the logo is fresh and up to date.


My partner and I were surprised by how low the average salary is for illustrators and I want to find out more about how often this career is pursued by other people.

Practice with the Adobe Illustrator Software

What is this and why did we do it? The purpose of this project was to get a better understanding of the Adobe Illustrator and have some practice with most of the tools. There are a total of seven artboards that we created using the software including; line, shape, color, value, texture, space and form. The difference between the elements: The line tool - is created by placing two points and going crazy... can be filled or not. The shape tool - is two dimensional which can be filled or unfilled. (connected by lines). Values - are different as well. Colors have different percentages that go into each color field. The texture part - is the quality of the object's surface. It gives the objects more character. Space - is the distances around, between, and within objects. It also refers to depth. Space can be positive and negative. Forms - are shapes that are 3D which can be opened and closed.
